This is a Technician position in the Fuels and Catalysts Application Technology team in the Applied Technology unit of Process Reseach Division under Downstream Technololgy & Service of Chevron Energy Technology Company. Technicians in this team do catalyst and process evaluation and development to support Chevron and its CLG/ART Joint Venture for hydroprocessing business. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Conducts Lab work for the testing of catalysts & hydrocarbon feedstocks under the direction of Researchers and/or TTL Handles potentially toxic chemicals Operates complex, Bench-Scale Unit for catalyst testing equipment which may operate at elevated temperature & pressure (>500F and >1000 psig) Handles basic maintenance and troubleshooting for testing equipment Handles sample collection, storage and submission for inspections Meets: OE & Project metrics IP - Actively documents work processes and results to ensure proper Intellectual Property protection Required Qualifications: Associate degree Mechanical skills for assembling simple piping and testing equipment Experience in laboratory work handling chemicals and equipment in a safe and efficient manner Must have experience with: Laboratory work utilizing chemicals, glassware, and bench scale unit equipment Operation of bench scale unit including basic maintenance & trouble shooting OE for Labs Preferred Qualifications: Operation of bench scale testing unit at elevated temperatures and pressures (>500F & >1000 psig) Basic Microsoft Excel and Word software Strong Communication & Chevron Way Behaviors Strong Commitment to OE in lab and office environment [Strong Safety Record] Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key Chevron colleges outside their immediate work group Relocation Options: Relocation will not be considered.
