System Engineer or Lead System Engineer System Engineers or Lead System Engineers are allocated to major subsea systems projects to ensure that all requirements of the customer specifications are met. Along with a technical manager, two disciplines of System engineer are generally required for a major project, Controls engineers and Oil Tools engineers (quantity dependent on project complexity). Between the two disciplines and the technical manager, the full requirements of the project from a system perspective will be covered. System engineers will be allocated to a project from concept through to the first phase of installation as a minimum. The System engineers will work with the technical manager for the particular project who will give them daily direction. System engineers will act on behalf of the project technical manager whenever the need arises. Typical components include: Subsea Trees, Tubing Hangers and Related Running Tools, Manifolds, Valves, Foundation Structures, Jumpers, Connectors, Subsea and Topsides Controls and Installation and workover Intervention Systems. Responsibilities: Depending on the scope of the project, responsibilities will include tasks such as: - Working in conjunction with the technical manager and the other project team members; the System engineer will be responsible for ensuring the components that comprise the subsea system function together to meet the system requirements. - The System engineer will work closely with the individual package engineers and services group. - Ensure external and internal interfaces - Internal Interfaces - Design Basis Memorandum - Follow up on design reviews - Preparation of System Documents such as: - - Project system procedures and plans. - System P&ID's. - System block diagrams - System drawing list - Risk Assessment, HAZID's etc. - Manage and coordinate the preparation of the Materials and Welding Design Memorandum for all equipment, by the project metallurgy and welding engineers. - Manage and coordinate the analysis work undertaken to meet project flow assurance requirements. - Manage and coordinate the timely conclusion of any BOP riser analysis work required to support the design of the jumper system. Confirm the wellhead and mating tree connector loading is maintained within the wellhead and connector limitations. - Assist the Controls Project engineer in providing relevant information for the RAM study. - Provide support and input to the RAD (Reliability and Assurance Document). - Manage the completion of the CP study in conjunction with the package engineers. Ensure that electrical continuity and satisfactory earthing requirements are being considered across the entire project. - Ensure project testing requirements are being met by generating, or input to; a project test matrix and SPS Philosophy Test Document. - Develop and maintain a list of qualification test plans and requirements for the project. Maintain and update QAR (Qualification Activity Register) on completion of outstanding qualification tests. - Ensure all Site Receipt Testing (SRT), pre-shipment and storage procedures are completed by the relevant package engineers and provide input where necessary. - Follow up operation, Installation and Maintenance - Follow up Project Close-Out by providing input for project close out report and alignment with Company close out process. - Attend all lessons learned meetings; assist with preparation of lessons learned report. Minimum Job Qualifications Job Qualifications - MSc or BSc in automation, electrical, mechanical or system engineering or other relevant degree. - Minimum 4-6 years' experience with system engineering - Good understanding of control systems and Subsea equipment, - Experience in using administrative systems for project management - Relevant experience from Oil & Gas, preferred subsea is required - Responsible and result-oriented with ability to work in multidiscipline teams - High work-capacity - Practical solution-minded with good interpersonal and communication skills - Fluency in English, oral and written - Hands on experience with products is preferred Personal skills You are Self-motivated, outgoing and a good team player.
