External Description Role Summary: This role will work on highly complex projects requiring in-depth domain knowledge of application security and will have a secondary role in open source software use and contribution. You will be required to take a hands-on approach to application and infrastructure security by implementing reusable security frameworks, vulnerability remediation and mentoring developers and build engineers on secure coding practices. You will be responsible for tracking BAKER HUGHES's use of open source to ensure compliance with open source licenses, and interacting with BAKER HUGHES functional leaders to support these initiatives. Essential Responsibilities: In this role Sr. Staff Cyber Security Engineer, you will: Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future security direction across the product portfolio or product line Analyze design and develop a road map and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive security viewpoint Review and/or analyze and develop security requirements at domain level within product portfolio or team Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support actives Work Experience Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university Minimum 10 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master's degree with 8 years of experience OR PhD with 5 years of experience Eligibility Requirements: Travel 10% of the time, as required Work out of an office located in New Orleans, LA Desired Characteristics: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university At least one technical certification in the field of application development and/or security Experience with other cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure or GCP Technical Expertise: Full understanding of common application level security exploits and a complete understanding of how they can be re-mediated Participates in domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals Gathers and analyzes data and develops architectural requirements at project level, aligning architectural requirements with software development strategy Reviews exceptions and makes recommendations to architectural standards at a domain level Business Acumen: Demonstrate knowledge of business' structure (P&Ls) and the interplay of functions to support business goals; demonstrate knowledge of the business products, key processes, suppliers, customers and market/competitors. Leadership: Develops, motivates and directs staff to create a team environment Recommends expenditures based on the size, scope, and cost of hardware and software components. Assists in developing business cases Collaborates with project management on reporting project status, issues, risks and benefits.
