Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role you will:
  • Develop and optimize monthly pre and post patching activity to ensure proper implementation without any outages or major business impacts.
  • Work closely with managed service providers and develop a thorough understanding of patch requirements, processes and procedures.
  • Analyze trend data to identify potential patch related issues.
  • Assist support teams with troubleshooting patch related issues.
  • Implement resolutions/improvements needed for proactive resolution.
  • Employ continual service improvement though monthly and quarterly patch management metrics review.
  • Develop automation scripts and programs to streamline manual patch operations and improve mean time to deliver.
  • Participate in technology initiatives such as evaluation of new tools, define new standards & process improvement.
    Change Management
  • Participate in change management process as a Reviewer.
  • Ensure that change management procedures are followed for production support tickets, patch deployments and incident resolutions.
  • Be responsible for working with internal and external audit teams, service providers and business process owners on change management, access control and audits.
  • Execute scheduled & un-scheduled environment activities
    Patching Administration
  • Deploy software updates (patches) to Windows and UNIX server operating systems, according to the patching standards and procedures.
  • Oversee, track, and schedule on-premise Server OS patching efforts for the Baker Hughes environment.
  • Monitor and maintain patching components in System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Ivanti Endpoint Security System (ESS) systems.
  • Analyze trends to identify potential patching errors on on-premise Server OS's.
  • Interact with respective teams to ensure errors do not re-occur in future patching cycles.
    Collaboration
  • Work closely with respective support teams to identify operational procedures and best practices in accordance with patch management strategy.
  • Work with DT Controllership/Audit/Compliance teams to remediate any deficiencies due to periodic audits and sustain processes to ensure sustained compliance.
  • Attend weekly and emergency meetings and resolve any issues with releases, deployments and environment


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager in a large-scale environment.
  • Minimum 5 years Information Technology or information Systems work experience.
  • Network troubleshooting.
  • Server OS knowledge.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross functionally.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills.
