We're looking for an experienced trading professional who will be part of the Continental Power Team, focusing on our option activities. An exciting opportunity for you to work in an open and fast-paced trading environment.
What's the role?
As a Senior Power Options Trader, you will be analysing fundamental and technical market conditions and devise and implement profitable option trading strategies, owning and managing exposures along the curve. Along side with that, you will also be supporting the Business Development Team and the rest of power trading team in pricing of option structures linked to originated business opportunities.
You also have the responsibility to execute power option and power flat price trades within mandated authorities. Plus, you will manage trading exposure and must understand and communicate risks being taken. You will coach and educate colleagues including sharing information and intelligence across the trading network.
More specific responsibilities include:
Work with Business Development to develop and grow the portfolio, assessing new business models and executing them
Manage option flow activities around new and existing business models, identifying new opportunities to increase our value capture
Understand the various compliance and certificate regimes in the Germany and the trading opportunities around them
Interface with customers, both internally and externally
Make time for innovation and discussion of growth opportunities, apportioning time appropriately between real time trading and business development
We're keen to speak from individuals with proven track record in trading and with power and gas option trading experience focusing on the North West Europe. You'll also bring us your general knowledge of the European Power Market and familiarity with the intricacies of option pricing: vanilla options, fuel spread options (clean spark and clean dark spreads), swings.
