Job Description

This position contributes to ensuring that Royal Dutch Shell maintains a fit for purpose and design effective control framework, with specific focus on the system and technical elements of controls.

This global position will give the successful candidate visibility of senior stakeholders across the both Finance Operations and Finance in the business. It also provides the opportunity for visibility across end to end processes and the prospect to drive forward and influence both global process design and global controls design.

  • Support any changes to the design of the control framework for the particular process area
  • Support control design as part of significant process standardization, business expansions, divestments and migration activity related to various projects. (Eg: S4 Hana controls implementation, World-Class Finance controls migration, Digitalization and Robotics Process Automation etc)


  • Qualified Accountant or studying towards their professional exams (CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW / ICAS / CISA) or have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Able to demonstrate a strong track record of Risk and Controls, Internal / SOX Audits and Application Controls
  • Project Management skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement coupled with excellent communication skills
  • Experience in delivering continuous improvement activities
  • Knowledge and experience Finance processes in the Oil and Gas industry would be especially beneficial
  • Able to work virtually
  • Has IT/technical knowledge such as SAP, S4HANA (added advantage )
