The Senior Process Engineer is a member of the Topsides Team supporting the operated assets in Brasil, Rio de Janeiro. The purpose of the Brazil Topsides Team is to protect asset value by securing a sustainable and safe production operation.
The Senior eng is responsible for providing Process Engineering technical support to daily operations as well as engineering activities in project stage (from Feasibility to Detailed Design).
The Process Engineer plays an important role in maximizing production efficiency and safeguarding process safety within Shell's Upstream Deepwater Brazil operated assets.
The Process Engineer is expected to grow into and deliver Process Engineering Technical Authority Level responsibilities.
Engineer accountabilities can be summarized by the following activities:
To deliver and support Process Eng technical assurance to the Assets' operation and projects
Engage other relevant Technical authorities from Shell global support to ensure most efficiency solution is provided
To support and provide technical basis and assumptions for annual Operating Plan (OP)
To deliver and support Greenhouse Gases (GHG) calculations as well as own and/or update Projects GHG Energy Management Plans
To provide engineering input to the brownfield challenges
Support Asset team on new opportunities evaluation to increase production, efficiency and safe deliver of the business goals
To represent Company in JV partner technical meetings
Support Well, Reservoir and Facility Management - WRFM
Participate in HAZIDs, Bowties, ALARP discussions, HAZOPs
Support initiatives at the Shell Brazil Operated department
Effectively network within Shell Global process engineering community and relevant industry entities
Assess contractors' performance identifying risks and intervene as appropriate on HSSE, quality and schedule.
Escalating any unresolved problem to the organization
Work with internal stakeholders who interface with the asset
Network with other teams and internal discipline functions
Minimum 10 years in the oil and gas industry, refinery and/or petrochemical industries, with experience in FPSO or any related field
Solid process engineering background
Advanced experience and knowledgeable in using UNISIM or HYSYS is mandatory
Experience in Oil & Gas Process design preferred
Experience with FPSO operations preferred
Good knowledge of process safety in design and in Asset Operations phase
Flow assurance knowledge desirable
Some experience of contracts and procurement preferred
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, being able to communicate and articulate with technical and non-technical disciplines whenever required;
Fluent in Portuguese and English (verbal and written)
