Role Summary: Baker Hughes, has a new opportunity for a Field Specialist to join our team in Angola within our Upstream Chemicals product line. Essential Responsibilities: Ensuring that all duties are executed in a manner consistent with accepted safety standards. This will include: Wearing of appropriate PPE and use of appropriate safety equipment at all times. Disposal of chemical/contaminated waste in the correct manner as dictated by the waste management policy. Only carrying out those duties for which the individual has been trained and shown to be competent. Only carrying out those duties within the agreed scope of work. Effective communication with client Operations groups. With regards to the operational side of process systems, process system trouble shooting, implementation of laboratory test methods and HS&E requirements. Identifying improvements for the economic viability of the account Effective management of the assets Chemical Management System. This includes, but is not limited to; Ensuring, where influence allows, that crude oil product, produced water, seawater injection water and any other process streams meet the defined performance KPIs Chemical treatment program and dose rate optimisation Production system trouble shooting Checking and adjusting chemical injection rates Identification and notification of mechanical failures with the chemical delivery systems Ensuring that all appropriate MSDS are kept onboard the asset and that all MSDS sheets available are up to date Maintaining chemical inventory records and ensuring the timely reordering of offshore chemical supplies by client Operations staff Recommending system/treatment improvements where necessary and providing functional specifications for systems upgrades Provision of safety training to Operations personnel in the handling of Baker supplied chemicals Carrying out biocide/corrosion inhibitor batch treatments and implementation of a comprehensive bacteria monitoring program Liaising with the BAKER Soyo facility to ensure continuity of chemical supply and raising any quality issues regarding both product quality and fitness of shipping tanks Determining and documenting the value added by BAKER to the CLIENT and ensuring the timely issue of Benefit Capture forms for BAKER/CLIENT management approval Performing the testing of crude oil export samples ensuring that the requirements of the defined ASTM test methods are fully met. Reviewing of the routine laboratory testing of daily production and other required samples and ensuring that the analyses are carried out in accordance with the test methods detailed in the Laboratory Procedures Manual. Overseeing and ensuring that the Laboratory and associated environments are maintained in the required state of tidiness. Preparation and issuance of accurate and up to date reports as follows; Daily lab report Weekly MCRS report Integrity report Maintenance of accurate and up to date training record files Active participation in Quality Assurance Team and Baker Team Safety meetings Ensuring maintenance of an accurate and up date Fiscal off-load file. Including the following; Current copies of the requisite ASTM and API test procedures All required equipment calibration results/certificates/verifications etc. Attending training during time off work in order to improve performance, knowledge and value to CLIENT Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree or more than 5 years' experience as a field specialist.
