Petrofac's Engineering & Consultancy services (ECS) team in Woking is looking for a contract Principal Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer ECS is Petrofac's centre of excellence for front-end engineering and consultancy projects, and we have been delivering across the oil, gas and renewables landscape since 2001. Due to a number of recent awards, we are looking to expand our team. Key Responsibilities: As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for input on one project and on occasions will be asked to provide expertise for more than one project at a time. You will work on rotating equipment and rotating equipment packages of all sizes and complexity. You'll have a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably hold Chartered Status and have significant related experience on rotating equipment working for Engineering/Client organisations in the Oil and Gas and or renewables industry. You'll have extensive knowledge of relevant industry design codes, be familiar with the manufacturers of compressors, pumps, gas turbines and their ancillary equipment, and demonstrate an excellent standard of written and spoken English. Essential Skills and Experience: • Take technical responsibility for all mechanical engineering work on projects, as well as managing project deliverables. Your expertise will allow you to address complex, technically challenging and/or high-profile issues as well as effectively managing their resolution and communication with clients and project management. • Perform duties with no direct supervision and within agreed schedules and budgets • Liaise with other disciplines to achieve design consistency • Support the project management team in planning and identifying technical issues which could limit progress or impact project budgets. • Interface with the client • Provide all necessary input and support to project progress and reporting • Work on a feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design or EPC projects • Be responsible for identifying and resolving discrepancies and divergences from original proposal/ contract by raising technical queries and/or identifying trends and changes within the framework of management of change • Participate in factory acceptance tests as required • Participate in multi-discipline design reviews as a team player, working collaboratively to find the right solution and support to the close-out of actions • Ensure compatibility and compliance with client specifications and recommend cost effective improvements within the scope of client specifications and requirements • Ensure compliance with Petrofac's ISO accredited QMS, and project specific procedures, guides and standards • Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to share findings with all key stakeholders, right first time, early and effectively. • Driving the detail - you'll be responsible for reviewing and checking critical mechanical deliverables including; Philosophies, Specifications, Datasheets, Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, Compressor & Pump Sizing Studies and Driver Studies. • Collaborate to drive successful projects - you'll provide regular and reliable reports and data to the Project Management team. • effectively guide procurement, including for long lead items, preparing Technical Requisitions, review vendor documentation and provide Technical Bid Evaluation support to ensure design conformance. • Understand conformance - ensure deliverables are compatible with client specifications and recommend strategies to improve given specifications to deliver savings across the project Equal Opportunities We recruit, reward and develop our people based on merit regardless of race, nationality, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status or disability. Join Our Journey Petrofac is currently looking to source an Instrument Technician to work a 3/3 rotation on a Fixed Term Contract until the end of 2020. To work in an integrated maintenance team, responsible for planning and execution of instrument work scopes. All work to be carried out in a safe, timely and quality manner to maximise plant and equipment availability, maintain asset integrity and achieve business objectives. Duties: • Ensure all work undertaken is safe, and in compliance and accordance with statutory Health and Safety procedures, maintenance manuals, specific work instructions, safe systems of work (Control of Work/Permit to Work) and all recommended safe working practices • Actively participate in thorough pre-job risk assessments for all non-routine activities and confirm that they are accurately reflected in the resultant Permit to Work • Actively participate in any pre-job site inspections/toolbox talks for maintenance activities • Participation in BOSS and carry out safety tours, as required • Ensure all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is appropriately used • Ensure all work party members, especially third-party personnel, fully understand the purpose of, and can use, required emergency response equipment • Ensure all personnel in proximity of works are fully aware of planned works, associated risks and control/mitigation measures in place • Ensure compliance with established clean workplace practices • Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are fully reported • Under direction, undertake routine inspection, servicing and adjustment of equipment • Under direction, support performance and condition monitoring and assessment • Review maintenance work orders and ensure all requirements/preparations are fully undertaken before commencement of works • Ensure any spares requirements are communicated to MDL in line with gate compliance timescales • Communicate with operations personnel for start-up and shutdown of relevant equipment • Undertake planned and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, ensuring any work carried out is in compliance with company procedures • Maintain safety critical equipment in accordance with regulations • Ensure equipment and systems are reinstated to required condition and performance • Support diagnostic activities and analysis to rectify faults • Report all work completed in CMMS (Backbone) • Respond to 'out of hours' call-outs, as requested • Provide input on any modifications made to equipment or systems for reporting to onshore discipline engineer to update 'as-built' drawing status • Responsible for management and completion of competency prolife (CPP) Experience and Skills: • Previous experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry in a similar or equivalent role • Recognised trade qualification • Appropriate vocational qualifications or certification in instrument maintenance • Offshore Survival (BOSIET/FOET) • Offshore Medical (OGUK) #LI-KI1
